Dear Families,
As we approach the end of the school year, we are planning our classes for September. We have decided that to rearrange the classes for a number of reasons.
As children join and leave during the school year, this changes the needs of the class overall. The classes have not been mixed for two years and given the turnover during this time, the classes have become imbalanced. This is having an impact on the children’s learning.
We will organise the classes based on the teacher’s knowledge of the children. Teachers will speak to them about their friendship groups, so that they can use this information in terms of who to place where. If you feel there is anything that the teachers should know before they make the final decisions, please let them know as soon as possible.
Please be aware that while we will endeavour to ensure that children are placed in the same class as their friends. However, for example, if it helps a child to focus on their learning to be placed in a different class to a particular friend, then we will prioritise their educational needs over their friendship group.
