Dear Parents and Carers,
Well done for making it to the end of your second week of either home learning or your son or daughter attending the in-school provision for key worker or vulnerable pupils. We hope that you all feel a little more settled now that you are coming to the end of the second week.
We don’t underestimate the challenge you all faced in changing to a new routine, particularly after all the uncertainty that 2020 brought us all.
Moving forward with our new term, I thought it would be helpful to share how you should solve any difficulties you may still be experiencing.
If you are experiencing any difficulties at all, your first point of communication is with your child’s class teacher. You can do this easily via the SeeSaw Family app.
Technology at home
If you have been given technology by the school but are experiencing difficulties using it, please contact your child’s class teacher who will talk you through some solutions. Following that, they will be able to seek further support from our IT team. With difficulties that have been experienced so far, we have been able to share fixes that others have found, so don’t hesitate to ask.
If you have asked for a loan of technology, please be assured that we will get this to you as soon as possible. We would love to be able to be able to provide technology for all, but unfortunately have had to prioritise to ensure that the limited amount we have goes to where it is most needed. As soon as we can access more, we will of course distribute it to those who have asked.
If you are currently managing without adequate technology, please stay in contact with your child’s class teacher to ensure that we work together to provide the best learning for your child that we can.
If you are eligible for food vouchers (please see the previous post on this if you are unsure), the next set will be available between Tuesday 19th January and the end of the week. We will update you as soon as we have more information on this. In the meantime, please contact Cleo Douglas on email@example.com if you have any questions. The next voucher will cover four weeks.
We are regularly reminded to look out for our own and each other’s mental health. Please remember to do this; whether this means daily fresh air and exercise, a short exercise class online, a chat with friends online, making a cake (and enjoying it afterwards!) or just taking 5 to lay on the bed with your eyes closed. All of these are okay. Equally, it is worth noting that most people are experiencing a range of emotions – and sometimes on a daily basis which can be difficult to keep up with. Please be kind to yourselves and reach out when you need to.
