Dear Parents and Carers,
I wrote to you at the beginning of the week to say well done – and it is time to say it again already. I’m sure, like us, you are experiencing a range of emotions and sometimes finding it hard to reassure your children, when you are feeling less than reassured yourselves.
Make sure you tell yourselves you are doing okay, even when you think you are not – it is really important. I’ve certainly found it useful to limit the amount of news that I, and my children, listen to.
Well, you made it to the end of another week and the end of the Spring term and that deserves a small hoorah!
We want to confirm with you that there will be no activities set for your children by their teachers over the next two weeks. Posts from teachers with activities will resume on Monday April 20th at 8am.
We also wanted to remind you of the support available to keep your child safe online. Below are some useful links to help parents and carers:
- Thinkyouknow (advice from the National Crime Agency)
- Internet matters (support for parents and carers)
- Parent info (support for parents and carers)
- LGfL (support for parents and carers)
- Net-aware (support for parents and careers from the NSPCC)
In the meantime, we include a list of activity sources below that you may find useful during the next two weeks at home.
60+ Virtual Tours and Trips Here you can do virtual tours of aquariums, art galleries and museums, famous places, landmarks, buildings and history museums. There are also sections on music and film, science centres, space and planets and zoos.
YPTE_Learning_pack_PLANTS.original These home learning packs have been compiled by the Young People’s Trust for the Environment to support you whilst your children are at home. They aim to suggest activities which require no special materials other than those you may already have. If you don’t have the materials, the activity is not for you!
First News 03.04.20 The pupils are used to having access to this newspaper in school. This edition is fresh out today so will be good for reading during the week ahead.
