Staying Home – well done already!

Hello Parents and Carers,

We wanted to write to say a huge well done for getting through the first week of home learning.  It is a change for you and your children and we all cope with change with varying degrees of success!  We understand that it can cause anxiety when you don’t know whether what you are doing is okay, right or good enough.

We want to reassure you that whatever you are able to do for your child is okay.  If you are not sure about anything, please ask.

If your child isn’t sure how to attempt an activity, it okay to do your best or don’t do it at all.

If you don’t have time to fit in all the things that are set for a day, what you have done is enough and you do not need to catch up with it the next day.

We have been looking at how our Year Group blogs are delivering content to you over the last week and you will see some changes happening this week.  Whilst everyone is working in differing circumstances, we want to provide you with support that provides your child with some fun, engaging activities that they can complete during the time when they would normally have been at school.

If you see content provided currently that appears more like lessons to be taught at home, these will be transforming into activities that your child can complete independently – with perhaps the intention to show you or their teacher once completed.

We are working towards you having fewer posts a day.  You will receive scheduled messages at 8am every morning signposting you where to look for work for that day.  You will then have the choice whether to look at it then, or at time that is more convenient to you.

We are not asking you to provide school at home.  We are asking for you to provide a safe and happy environment for your children during these unprecedented times.  We want to support you in keeping them busy and engaged during the day.

If there is anything that you are struggling with regarding the tasks set for your child, please do ask your child’s teacher.  This will help them know what to set in the future.  If there is anything else that we may be able to help you with, please do get in touch – we will do our best to help.

Best wishes

Jo
