Dear Parents and Carers,
We currently have a vacancy for a parent governor on our Governing Body, which is open to all parents and carers of children attending Heavers Farm. Being a governor will afford you the opportunity to help shape and guide the progress of our school, and our Federation.
On our last Ofsted Report, we were judged to be a good school, and since then we have strived to make our teaching an outstanding experience for our pupils. This could not be achieved without the active engagement of our parents. One of the most significant ways that parents can help in promoting this aim is to volunteer to be a parent governor. The governing body’s main tasks are to support the school, ensure that pupils receive high quality education and plan for future development and improvement.
Parent governors are welcomed as valued members of the team and play a vital role in ensuring the governing body is aware of the views of parents, carers and the local community. We feel sure that there are parents and carers prepared to take on this important role and give their time and commitment to helping us to continue to improve the school’s performance. Here is an information sheet on the role of parent governors: Parent Governor Information Sheet.
If you feel you are such a person please complete the Parent Governor Nomination Form which needs to be returned to me via email to me by 9.00am on Monday 1 October 2018.
Please note that for the protection of children all governor appointments are subject to a vetting process and identity check.
If there are more applications than vacancies, we will hold an election and you will be sent a voting paper. You may return the ballot paper either via your child or by post.
