A World Book Day donation from the PTA

As mentioned in last week’s News From the School Office, the PTA has very kindly donated a large amount of new books to be used as home reading books by the children at Heavers Farm. You should see them in your child/children’s book bags in the coming days/weeks/months. We hope that the children enjoy reading the books and that you enjoy discussing the books at home.
Kind regards
Mr McCormack

The PTA are very excited to let you know that we are donating over 1,100 books to school to celebrate World Book Day!

We all loveto read, and we want to share that joy with the children by providing a really wide selection of books to supplement the reading scheme books we purchased for the school last year. We have books for all ages and tastes, carefully chosen by a member of the PTA who has worked in book publishing for over 15 years.

You want classics? We’ve got them. Bestsellers? We have loads. Adventure, animals, dance, comics, jokes, thrillers, fantasy, reality, it’s all there. We have some lovely dyslexic-friendly books and we’ve thought carefully about the able readers in KS2. We hope your children find some books they love – look out for the ‘Donated by Heavers Farm PTA’ stamp…

  2. This is amazing!!! Thanks so much to all the PTA volunteers and especially Sarah for heading this wonderful provision. There is no better way to stimulate a healthy habit of reading other than making good modern books available for our children. How exciting!!! Thanks Heavers 🙂
