It was a cold day at Croydon High School yesterday, when our hockey stars went to take place in the Croydon Quicksticks Hockey Finals. But our team braved the cold and fought their hardest to gain a third place finish!
There were eight schools there in total, from all across Croydon, and every team were really campaigning to get to that top spot! Heavers’ squad were outstanding in every match, coming into a couple of injuries but getting up and fighting hard throughout. Our team only lost one match, which was versus Fairchildes Primary, the eventual winners.
Our player of the tournament remains Yehoshua, who proved invaluable in securing our third place spot. A close second, however, comes Katie, who really stepped up to the mark after Stephanie had an injury, and had to play a gruelling three matches in a row!
Well done to our entire team, who have come from strength to strength this year! Here’s to a first place finish next year!
