Children of Heavers Farm – we’re looking for Croydon’s most imaginative time traveller!

Discover Croydon’s past through art:

Croydon Heritage Festival is on the search for Croydon’s most imaginative time traveller to discover what our town looked like 10, 500 or even 1,000 years ago. Who would you meet, what would the buildings look like or how would you get around?

Primary school children in Years 4 to 6 will research Croydon through the ages, locate an interesting moment in its history and illustrate with artwork what they might discover  – people, places, transport, food, sport or even the latest fashion!

The winning class will have their artwork displayed on Croydon’s trams, at its newest development at Ruskin Square, East Croydon, as well as a whole class behind-the-scenes tour of the London Tramline Depot at Therapia Lane. Finalists will have their artwork displayed in a special Whitgift Centre exhibition during the Croydon Heritage Festival on 18 to 26 June 2016.

Closing date for entries is Friday 3 June. Further competition information is attached.

Croydon Heritage Festival is a celebration of Croydon’s rich and vibrant history and heritage. This year, the festival is themed ‘Undiscovered Croydon’ to take people on a journey of discovery and exploration around Croydon to reveal its iconic locations and residents, little known-facts and best kept secrets of the area.
