It hasn’t all been SATs-mania here at Heavers Farm, because the last couple of weeks have been sporty ones! With children from all across KS2 competing in different sports, we wanted to give you all the run down.
First off, the Year 5 and 6s took a trip to The Archbishop Lanfranc Academy for the 3v3 Basketball Competition. We played a lot of great teams, but we managed to just about clinch a space in the coveted finals (taking place next week). This is a massive achievement, and we’re all very very proud of all our fantastic players! Check out the pictures below.
Then it was the year 3 and 4s’ turn to get sporty. A select team of year 3 and 4 children went to try out some mini tennis at Royal Russell last Friday. This was gruelling on such a hot day, but our kids powered through and played phenomenally. Our team narrowly missed out on a spot in the finals, but it was so close that we can only say a massive well done to our tennis squad!
Plus, our year 4s have been brushing up their basketball skills with some excellent teaching from some year 9 children from Harris Academy South Norwood.
In taekwondo news, lots of Heavers’ best taekwondo-ers went to the inter-club championships last weekend. Between them, they won a whopping eight gold and three silver medals. What an amazing weekend for these athletes!
Last, but certainly not least, congratulations to our girls football team, who won the Croydon North II Division League, and have the final playoffs next Wednesday!
