Learning Lacrosse!

A select group of year 4 and 5 children travelled to Riddlesdown Collegiate on Monday to learn a new sport – lacrosse.

Lacrosse is a sport where two teams compete using a funny looking stick, called a lacrosse stick, that has a mesh net at the end to catch the ball. Players use the lacrosse stick to catch, cradle, and pass the ball and try and score in the opponents’ goal. Lacrosse is especially popular in the USA and Canada.

Our kids had a great time learning some skills and how to play this sport for the first time. They even got a chance to play some matches at the end. Check out the pics below.

Is lacrosse really fun because in the picture it looks like a brilliant game I herd mister Jackson picked most of the heavers people and Bryan told me all the fun things that he had done it is a bit like hockey aswell it actually sounds super fun to play if I was there I would of had lots and lots of fun learning how to play one question what are those things you hold the ball in called I want to join the sports group to have more time to play with my friends do you have to pay for it (to play the sport)
