Harvest Assembly (Friday 9th October)

Unknown-6

Next Friday we will be holding a Harvest Festival themed assembly.

While many of us will not be actually harvesting food from fields, garden or allotments at this time of year, we think it is a good opportunity to collect some produce to donate to our local food bank (details of which can be found here: http://croydon.foodbank.org.uk).

We are not asking for large donations – a single packet or tin of food would be wonderful and, as we are a large school, it would all add up. The items that the food bank tell us they need most are listed below:

  • Canned Meat
  • Canned Fish
  • Canned Meals/pies etc
  • Canned Fruit
  • Canned Puddings
  • Long Life Milk -500ml
  • Sugar – 500g bags
  • Long life Fruit Juice & Squash
  • Baby Nappies
  • Instant Coffee
  • Shower Gel
  • Rice

In order to encourage donations, any child that is able to contribute something to the food bank will be allowed to wear their own clothes on Friday.

Many thanks for your support and participation.

  1. I think this is a great idea! But are there still school photos on Friday, so children will need to wear uniform?

  2. Yes Sarah. Apologies for the mix up. Donations and own clothes day will now be on Monday 12th.
    Kind regards
    Mr McCormack

  3. Looking forward to the harvest assembly. Lily-Rose Hunter, jet class
