Parent Governors Needed!

Parent Governor Vacancy

As you know on the 1st September 2014 both Heavers Farm Primary School and Selsdon Primary School joined together to form a hard federation. This means that we need to set up our new, joint federated governing body. We will need one parent governor from each of our schools.

Both schools have always aimed for a partnership with parents and carers, which brings great benefits to the children. One of the most significant ways that parents can help in promoting this aim is to volunteer to be a parent governor. The governing body’s main tasks are to support the school, ensure that pupils receive high quality education and plan for future development and improvement.

Parent governors are welcomed as valued members of the team and play a vital role in ensuring the governing body is aware of the views of parents, carers and the local community. We feel sure that there are parents and carers prepared to take on this important role and give their time and commitment to helping us to continue to improve the school’s performance. If you would like more information on being a school governor please see the information sheet below.

If you feel you are such a person please complete the attached nomination form below, which will need to be completed and emailed to me on: head@heaversfarm.croydon.sch.uk by 9.00am on Friday 19th September 2014.

Please note that for the protection of children all governor appointments are subject to a vetting process and identity check.

If there are more applications than vacancies, we will hold an election and you will be sent a voting paper. You may return the ballot paper either via your child or by post.
