Congratulations to Andy Murray who beat Novak Djokovic today to become the first British man to win the Wimbledon men’s singles title since 1936, a staggering 77 years. What an achievement!
Here is a picture of Andy when he came to visit Heavers Farm with his brother Jamie, back in 2009. He sat on the floor during assembly in our school hall, you can see some of our Year 6 pupils from last year sitting behind him.

I think that Andy Murry is a talented British tennis player and deserved the 1.6 million pounds.
