School Expansion – Update

We are delighted to announce that we have just been informed that the plans for our school expansion will definitely be going ahead. This will mean that from September 2012 we will become a three form entry school; so from September 2012 onwards we will take in three Reception classes a year.

There will be a new single storey extension built which will join onto the existing Year 5 classroom area. We will also be extending our school hall, moving the staffroom and redeveloping the Nursery. Building work is expected to start in August 2012 and be complete by February 2013. We are working closely with award winning architects ADP. Designs for the new buildings have not yet been agreed; as soon as they are we will share these with you. We will do everything we can to keep disruption to a minimum.

We are very proud of our school as it has moved from strength to strength. Our pupils have flourished, achieving exceptional SATs results as well as succeeding in a range of sporting, art, drama and music activities. Consequently we are oversubscribed which is why we have agreed to take one more class a year. Some parents have shared their concern that by becoming slightly bigger that we will lose that personal touch. We are adamant that this will not happen as the ethos of our school is what lies behind its success.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like any further information or want to discuss any aspect of the expansion.
