Our first chicks!

We were very excited today when the first of our chicks started to hatch. These are our first two chicks. They are spending their first few days under a special light in the space we have made for them next to the Reception playground.

We would like to name our first chicks, but cannot think of suitable names. If you have any ideas, then please leave a comment below and we will choose the best ones.

If you would like to visit our chicks or see the eggs in the incubator please speak to any of the Reception staff who would be delighted to show you.

  1. On second thoughts, Dave and Gary really express how fantastic it is to have chicks hatch here on the grounds of Heavers Farm. I would like to offer the options of the names of Frank Lampard, John Terry and Joseph Cole….true Chelsea legends. I am sure they would appreciate being linked to this wonderful occasion.

  2. Hello! I think they should have the first names of the people the “Houses” are names after so, Nelson (Mandela), Florence (Nightingale), William (Shakespeare) and Mahatma (Ghandi) ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Hi
My daughter Rhianna Thompson has just suggested to me that maybe you could call one of the chicks ‘Wiz’ after the music artist Wix Khalif and his song ‘Black and Yellow” because the chicks are black and yellow. ๐Ÿ™‚
Other suggestions, Lesley, Sunny, Basil, Goldey.
    Congratulations by the way!

  4. I think that their names should be related to black history month, like Rosa Parks etc or they could be named after some of the teachers, I also think that liyla is a nice name, or nevaeh heaven spelt backwards ( if you dont kow how to pronounce the name, then i defently will tell you)

  5. i would like to call them names after countries e.g England,France,Wales Scotland and america for example depending on how many there are. I would also like to say how sweet the look as i saw them the other day!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Congratulations. The chicks are lovely. I love to name one of the chicks ABIKE meaning born to treasure. It is a Nigerian yoruba name.

  7. I love are chickens there beautiful Plus I would by a chick because of how beautiful they are! Miss pink ๐Ÿ™‚
