Thought for the week

Starting today, we are introducing a ‘thought for the week’ at the start of each week. We are asking the pupils to think about this, and perhaps give us a response. They can do this by adding a comment on the website here, or adding a post-it to the display outside the school office.

You can help your child by discussing this with them and encouraging them to explain what they think about it.

As we are celebrating the International Day of Peace this week, our thought  is:

“Peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal.”

Martin Luther King, Jr

  1. ”Non-violence is the highest ethical behaviour”

”If silence is silvern, then to speak of God is golden”

”Serve your mother, father, and those who are ill”

    ”Hard Work + Prayer =Success ”

”Bad company divorces one from God and character”

”He who performs righteous deeds is happy”

”In the joy of others lies our own”

Words for living: Before you spend, earn.
    Before you write, think.
    Before you speak, listen.
    Before you criticise, wait.
    Before you pray, forgive.
    Before you die, give.
    Before you retire, save. =)

”You can’t change the past but you can ruin a perfectly good present by worrying about the future.”

  2. Ellie Long Emerald Class: “You should help make peace by not fighting, and you should be nice to people and you should not yell or boo others. I can help by being nice and play with everyone.”
