This club takes place in our school hall on Tuesdays as soon as school closes through till 4.15pm.  The club is operated by Derek Burke a fitness fan and sports coach who is well known and regarded in the local community. Derek works at school as a Teaching Assistants, another of our Teaching Assistants, Josh Mansell will be helping at the club.

Derek has been involved in a wide range of young people’s community sport activities. He has been attached to football teams such as Crystal Palace and Arsenal for many years and feels keenly that involving children in sport offers them positive choices in life. Futsal is a variant of soccer played on a smaller area and mainly played indoors. It is played between two teams of five players, one of whom is the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutes per team are permitted. Unlike some other forms of indoor soccer, the game is played on a hard surface and walls or boards are not used. Futsal is also played with a smaller ball with less bounce than a regulation football. The rules create an emphasis on improvisation, creativity and technique as well as ball control and passing in small spaces.

All pupils are welcome at this club for which Derek charges £4 each session. Payments should be made directly to him and not the school. Booking forms are available from the school office.
